From an early copywriting career with a major UK advertising agency to full-time marketing positions, from contract communication work for government departments, to partnerships with PR and branding consultancies, I’m not just a theorist but someone who’s been at the sharp end of business reality. When that understanding combines with creativity, you get results.

Expanding horizons
Travel is one of my life themes. I was marketing manager for a large UK travel agency group. I wrote for American Express Travel, Sheraton Hotels and Holland America Cruises. More recently I’ve been closely involved in brand development and storytelling for Outback Pioneers.
Necessities of life
From cars to TVs, from paper to utilities, from WorkCover to wine, from superannuation to cereals, I’ve immersed myself in the business reality of diverse clients. Every challenge is unique. Every strategy is unique. But always creative ideas and clear communication make a valuable difference.
Reaching people
I love to work where it makes a real difference for people. I was marketing adviser for Queensland Government Office for Women, and have also worked on communication strategy, branding and PR for Churches of Christ Care, and for non-profits Hand Heart Pocket and Aegium.

Since being part of the Cultural Development Team at QIC, I have studied how a genuine values-driven culture shapes an organisation. I can write everything that helps bring culture to life. Then you have to live it. Every day. In every decision. Enduring brands are built from the inside out.
Building better
A contract for Queensland Government Office of Urban Management inspired me with the art and science of creating better places for people to live and work. I’ve also worked on projects for construction companies including Seymour White, Probuild and the Rohrig Group.
Our future
I tended towards tree-hugging long before the environment was a thing! I edited an environmental newsletter for business, wrote Triple Bottom Line reports and worked for Ecotourism Australia.
